Hi! I’m Karen Jeane Mills
I am an illustrator and researcher. I live in Calgary, Alberta, where I’ve hung my hat for fifteen years. I grew up on Canada’s East Coast. and studied art at NSCAD University and design at NSCC, both in Nova Scotia.
Prairie Crop is my freelance studio through which I create illustrations, brand suites, and educational resources for community groups and businesses.
Clients include AB Labour History Institute, Calgary Institute for the Humanities, Canadian Paediatric Society, Eltuek Arts Centre, Lougheed House Museum
My work draws on local history, the prairie bioregion, and public life. I share my activities, routines, and tips on Instagram, Threads, and YouTube
